Hi all, I also have a R6400v2 and I am more than happy to help as much as I can. In attachment the output of "nvram show" and dmesg commands.
You should contribute a router to Kong and let him build a BS fw better. while on waiting you able to porting r6400vx to r7000 not r7000P. just retore r6400vx to OEM firmware, from that point you need copy and back up nvram and factory mtd. When you look at wikidev on both model v1 and v2. little different is cpu and flash ic but both are arm cortex. also on log nand should be 0x0800.0000 in hex or 128MiB but it is
nand: AMD/Spansion NAND 128MiB 3,3V 8-bit
nand: 128 MiB, SLC, erase size: 128 KiB, page size: 2048, OOB size: 64

all you need replace xvotex r7000 cfe. if you want down grade to r6300v2 then change board rev and type for compatible with fw of r6300v2. also you can able upgrade to r7000 not r7000p by same way. If board data from cfe not math then fw may going boot loop. You can not used both fw ,only down grade or upgrade until Kong fix and release new build one.
note:use at your own risk.

Yes, first donation is received.
Keep up the good work.
We are getting there!!
I guess the price jumped, or there is shipping involved? 25 Euros added to goal... not surprised, since I know how much that device costs here locally. At least the original goal has been covered.
since I started this thread, contributed to sending the first one to BrainSlayer, and have a bricked router (probably all my fault, by the way - my board ID ends in 20...) - I just kicked in another 10 euro.

115 why that much? Can't we just buy it online and directly send it to his home? I live in Germany if that helps of anything I can take care of some logistic. _________________ R6400v2 (boardID:30) - Kong 36480 running since 03/09/18 - (AP - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R7800 - BS 31924 running since 05/26/17 - (AP - OpenVPN Client - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R7000 - BS 30771 running since 12/16/16 - (AP - NAS - FTP - SMB - OpenVPN Server - Transmission - DDNS - DNSMasq - AdBlocking - QoS) R6250 - BS 29193 running since 03/20/16 - (AP - NAS - FTP - SMB - DNSMasq - AdBlocking)

Verifying that it's in fact a V2 prior to shipment is probably ideal, I would think.
