I don't think this is true, or at least for the majority. I'm not completely acknowledged on netgear stock firmware, but I don't think they add many more features on the software side that would lead you to buy a more expensive router, just for a software feature.
I think that people coming to ddwrt is people searching for better performance and stability than stock (for example my 6250 had one core locked by netgear on stock), OR in search of features that even an R9000 can dream of with stock.

I thought I had given an example of what I meant. Anyways, I am not here to argue.

One last thing, I think we should stop calling it "it's a R7000" given that is a wrong assertion, and that's why is not a nighthawk, even though is supported on the app you will find nowhere recognised as such. The R7000 has better wifi chip plus has wifi amplifiers on both bands, so a dog is not almost an elephant just because both have four legs.

I'm not completely acknowledged on dogs and elephants either. So ... "pass"

I agree on your mission of keeping people active to get this router supported. It's a really good router, suitable for majority of people and I hope the v2 gets the support it deserves soon.

Common playing ground where we are on the same team. The R6400 is value for money, when compared to other routers. Hope the devs pay more attention to it. I saw somewhere that someone had donated a router for this purpose. Request for a quick solution on this. I could try to help during weekends if there is something that I can do.

I would be up to sign up if a bunch of us want to collect money and donate one of these and send it to Kong.
Though bigjohn user sent an nvram dump to Kong back in December and we hadn't got any more news about it.
