I was bored last night thought to check if there is an update for my router it was running DD-WRT v24SP2- (03/25/13) std - build 21061.
So i tired to upgrade to the new firmware v3.0 build 36527 with the Webupgrade image after the upgrade the router didnt come back online i went and i saw the router leds flash
like its on boot loop.
1. all led flash
2. ports 1-4 and wan flash
in a loop.
What i did wrong ? did i bricked my router ? what can i do?

I tired to update my second 1043 v1.8 this time i reverted to the stock firmware first then update it with the latest stock firmware. After that i tired to install dd-wrt v3.0 36527 and again it bricked that router too.

Using a bad build?
Before flashing a new build, always read the respective thread. In case of r36596 you would have found there:

That's why there is still r36006 on my WR1043ND.
The recovry via TFTP-server is supposed to work on devices 1.8+ only, so recovery via serial console seems to be the last chance.

couldn't unbrick the first router (the 1.6) but the 1.8 it reverted back to stock and working now.
The 1.6 cant start receiving recovery file at all and still on loop.
What i am doing wrong that the 3.0 firmware keep bricking routers ?
Hi As21,
Please only upgrade 1043ND v1.x to 06-16-2018-r36154.
Any version newer than it, you might only have a boot-loop 1043ND after flashing.
That's my experience.
And is the step of unbricking v1.6 same as unbricked v1.8?
Did you check the TFTP log viewer?
Although OpenWRT wiki only mentions v1.8 & higher, but since it worked for my v1.1,
so I thought it supposing working for any 1043ND v1.x.
