Best current/stable build for ASUS RT-N16

I've been running {DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/12/10) mega- build 14929} for many years on my ASUS RT-N16. It has been very stable. However, I'd like to bring my setup into the modern world, so I'm seeking recommendations for a build that could be as stable as 14929, but released in the last year or so. The router database recommends {dd-wrt.v24-36527_NEWD-2_K3.x} which was built in the last few days. Should I be leary about that recommendation? Is there something better that one of you could recommend?
