Test it yourself, if you know how to recover a device using Serial (USB-UART device required) and TFTP.

If you are waiting for a tested build, donate a router via the donation page: https://dd-wrt.com/donations/

Make sure the router is the same version you are looking to add support for.

I have already created several TP-Link modified builds, more than most likely they will work, or at least boot successfully. 940N v4 and v5 was my work, I did not test them, other users did. I created the test files though. 845N same thing.

99% of the time, you can debrick using TFTP, as I described. Just use the Factory (TP-Link) file instead of the one I made.

A USB-UART device is not expensive though: https://www.adafruit.com/product/954
You can even find them on ebay for ~$2-3

A good serial recovery how-to is here: https://openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/archer-c5-c7-wdr7500#recovery_using_serial_connection

This requires opening up the router however, thereby voiding your warranty.

I've done the research, found the details of how to make a build for v6 of this router, and posted them in the DD-WRT ticket system. (This model has a different header on the binary and fewer LEDs; tweaking the PIO bits that would light the nonexistent ones appears to cause problems.)

The porting information (and the ticket) have been sitting in the ticket system since April, but a build hasn't materialized. I've offered here (and there!) to donate a router, but no one has taken me up on it. I've been using OpenWRT/LEDE because of this. A shame, since it looks like a very easy task to incorporate the same minor changes that OpenWRT/LEDE did! The inventory of older versions has been exhausted, so DD-WRT is now useless on any newly purchased router of this model. What can be done to get the developers to pay attention and add the minor changes necessary to get it working?

Hi there,
I managed to flash my router with the latest firmware on this thread. Apart from the blinking LED, it's working perfectly.

I do have one issue, why cannot I see hard wired devices connected to the same router? I get a destination host unreachable error.

Googling appears to indicate that there is a bug in the firmware?

I believe if that is the case, there is a command you can run but I would appreciate it if you could tell me how and where to run the command which is the following:

swconfig dev eth1 set enable_vlan 1
swconfig dev eth1 set apply

I've tried to run it through putty and the command line on the router config page, but appears to just time out.

Please can someone advise?
(I can ping wireless devices such as my smart TV).

Thanks.
