|
SOLVED: Seems to be a problem of WLAN-HW interoperability or FW-Bug on the non DD-WRT device. Running against other hardware the effect/problem was not reproduceable.
Ralink vs. AVM FritzBox 6490 Cable (2 different devices on different FW) Linkrate drops and did not recover.
Ralink vs. Speedport W 723v linkrate recovers as intended.

Transmission Rate did not recover after bad reception
Hi,
Under bad conditions link rate drops as intended - but it did not recover after the link gets "stable" again.
HW: D-Link DIR-600
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r36527
(same on all last builds, can make a list if it helps)
Mode: RBridge
Reset to Default
Channel width 20/40 MHz did not make a difference.
Restarting wireless and speed is back to normal.
Unluckily on all recent builds there is a bug and no link information is shown on Status_Wireless.asp. The AP the Bridge is connected to states:
TX / RX
11 / 135 | 2,4 GHz / n / 40 MHz WPA2, 1 x 1
This is what it looks in IPERF from the bridge connected by LAN cable:
[300] 9.0-10.0 sec 6.87 MBytes 57.6 Mbits/sec # all seems okay
[300] 10.0-11.0 sec 6.24 MBytes 52.4 Mbits/sec
[300] 11.0-12.0 sec 1.59 MBytes 13.3 Mbits/sec # (mis)adjusted the Antenna – rate drops
[300] 12.0-13.0 sec 1.07 MBytes 8.98 Mbits/sec
[300] 13.0-14.0 sec 1.90 MBytes 15.9 Mbits/sec # Readjust Ant - rate recovered not more than this
[300] 14.0-15.0 sec 2.04 MBytes 17.1 Mbits/sec # testduration 999 sec
After restart of wireless:
134 / 135 | 2,4 GHz / n / 40 MHz WPA2, 1 x 1 # Link/Speed back to “normal”.
Tested against 2 APs (same Vendor different firmware)
Firmwarebug or did I make a mistake in the setup?
OT:
Is there a post like the Peacock-Thread over at brcm-forum regarding best build? |
