Linksys 1900ACS V2
DDWRT v3.0-r36330 std
This morning my son said his PS4 was updating slowly. Discovered it was connected to the 2.4 network. Spent a lot of time trying to get it to connect to the 5ghz network. In the end my phones and laptops and other computers wouldnt connect. After a few hours back and forth with it I finally just reset it and - it worked. I connected our phones and computer to the 5ghz network and went on. A few hours later my wife said the printer wont connect - its on 2.4. I use a scanner on my phone and neither wireless network can be found. I did another reset. Still cant see either of them. On the router itself there is no light on for either network either. Im not sure how trying to connect a device to the network has caused this but Im unable to get either to work.
As I was reading through the forums reading posts something made me look at for a few weeks Ive been running the wrong firmware. I have ACS V2 and I was not running that fw. Not sure if that was a problem or why it would show itself now but, I downloaded the correct firmware and still had the same problem. I reset from the Admin menu and it worked. I put back in all my settings and it all stopped working again. Only made a few changes like to the ip address and its range, mac address filtering .. but one of those is causing problem. So I reset again and this time left most things default. Just changed the admin info, changed the number of allowed connections - that is it. Didnt even change the default ddwrt name for the ssid. Its all working so.. Ill just leave it as it is.

The Playstation 4 doesn't have 5GHz. If you need your ISP's full speed you will have to connect via LAN cable (ethernet). _________________ DD-WRT Installation & Setup TUTORIAL http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=311117

Why Sony didn't include 5GHz in the first PS4 I'll never understand.
I'm glad you got it working! _________________ DD-WRT Installation & Setup TUTORIAL http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=311117

That and, it doesnt help reading forums where everyone has a PS4 with no differentiation between PS4, Slim, Pro, etc. I agree, if you want people to purchase games that have to be downloaded then put 5ghz on all machines. In my business I evaluate lots of new construction between homes and multi-home units. Fiber, cable, dsl etc, broadband to the location is available but once inside the one, less than 1% have any further network wiring. Its all expected to be wireless. Put the fastest wireless on these units and make other things the upgrade features.
