Hey while updating to dd-wrt the process messed up and now all the lights blink on and off every 10 seconds or so. Ive been doing a lot of research and haven't come across archer c8 bricking only c7 and was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction on how to try and fix this, thank you.
Using wireshark it says who has 192.168.0.66 tell 192.168.0.86
Changed my ip to 192.168.0.66
Ran wire shark again and told me its looking for file ArcherC8v1_tp_recocery.bin
Downloaded original tp link firmware and dd wrt and renamed the file to the above
Using tftp2 I put router ip of 192.168.0.86 and file of above in and watching wireshark I see read request of said file, transfer type: octet
Sometimes I get "Malformed Packet" and other times I get Destination Unreachable (port unreachable).
Am I Dead in the water here?
Oh man I hope you find a solution. I have a C8 and I have been holding on using DDWRT because there is so few info about it in the forum and also you can't go back to factory firmware. I think that with this post I'm deciding to buy an r7000 and let this one to die in my closet, but anyway I hope someone can help you mate.

Was able to transfer ddwrt archer c8v1 over via tftp64. Waited 2mins and did 30/30/30 reset, still cannot connect to router via 192.168.1.1 and all lights are still blinking every 10 seconds or so.....im stumped.
Thanks I did this though unfortunately. I dled the ddwrt for archer c8v1 and renamed it to the archerc8_tp_recovery.bin and the tftp sent it to the router. I wait some minutes and for the router to accept it and nothing happens, I still cannot connect to the router, and the routers IP doesn't change from 192.168.0.86
Not sure if you are aware that you need to setup tftp server on the PC and not tftp client. If at all possible, use tftpd32 as suggested on the guide and make sure you use the correct file name for the recovery file. Use the log view as suggested on the guide.
Please note that I don't have C8 and my comment and suggestion are based on the information that you provided and the information from the guide.

Any update on this particular model? I think I bricked mine as well after flashing the latest beta I saw for Archer C8. I'm in bootloop right now so I can't really do anything.

I bricked it 2 weeks ago updating from some stock version (can't remember which has one) to latest stock and couldn't make it work using the tftp server. The router takes the bin file but it's not flashing it for some reason. I bought the serial cable but still have to disassemble the router to connect it. I'm waiting for a new R7000 so probably it will die there bricked on its own.
hello
do what it says here.
install all this programs and shutdown the firewall windows.
i do copy past the name off the file, because at the first time i write the name and the program says cant find the file. this file ArcherC8v1_tp_recocery.bin
