I was having connectivity issues with new service provider using my router. Poor speeds when connecting through router. My service is 30 mbps down and 5 up. With the router connected in it drops to 4 mbps down and 5 up. As soon as I connect the magic jack voip device it drops to little or no connectivity. I tried a firmware update to the factory software but no improvement.
I then am trying the ddwrt but I cannot get it to load. Trying the firmware update method, dlink device says the software is incorrect. I tried the tftp method. The software after several tries, loaded in 2.4 seconds. I powered off the router and on again after ten seconds. The original software still seems to be loaded and giving out the same dhcp address.
Don't expect amazing speeds from such a low powered router though. Don't expect it to handle QoS (with a lot of services, not just global limits) or a VPN. _________________ Before asking a question on the forums, update dd-wrt: Where do I download firmware? I suggest reading it all.
