I have one of the gutted WRT54Gs and that was the recommended firmware. How would I find out if any of those are compatible?
What exact router model/version?

All that said, I suppose there's always the possibility of a "special case" router, where ppl more familiar w/ the hardware and working w/ "gutted WRT54Gs" (whatever that means) have more knowledge and know that *only* as specific build is recommended, or if perhaps some future build might even brick it.
I'd guess they mean its a 2MB micro build router. As long as it's not corerev 4 (or less) which needs VINT builds (as the lore goes), it can use latest builds. They can just refer to the appropriate wiki. And see here:

That said, afaik https GUI access is not working, even on latest builds. _________________ #NAT/SFE/CTF: limited speed w/ DD#Repeater issues#DD-WRT info: FAQ, Builds, Types, Modes, Changes, Demo#

I didn't know about this and changed radio button from HTTP to HTTPS on router GUI. Then I lost it. It doesn't respond to reuqest over either HTTP and HTTPS now. What do I do to restore the access to GUI?

Either reset it, or if telnet/ssh is enabled, connect and `nvram show|grep http`...I think it's 'http_enable'. I don't have access to a DD router atm to check... So:
Tried ssh and it's not responding on port 22. I may have changed the port or disable ssh years ago and unfortunately have no record of my doings anymore.
By reset you mean the 30/30/30?
And then I guess I pconnect it to computer with Ethernet cable, set DHCP and access web GUI under 192.168.0.1?

Telnet is enabled by default (for the LAN); ssh is not. Reset by holding the button for >10 sec will suffice, and the default DD IP is 192.168.1.1. Also, never 30-30-30 ARM routers.
