Have you tried resetting the modem and cold booting it?

Is BrainSlayer playing with the NVRAM settings in recent builds? Would that affect WAN connection?

If it's confirmed, I would try a reset in the *NEXT* BS build. I rather stay with 35770 to save some time. I have never needed to erase nvram when upgrading DD-WRT. Smile

Does anyone have ipv6 working for WAN connections?

I just installed the stock firmware for my router then enabled ipv6 and still no ipv6. Seems like my ISP is doing something to keep my router from getting an ipv6 address my pc picks it up fine without the router. Not a dd-wrt problem afaik. Thanks for the help.

P.S. The wan port gets online without unplugging on the stock firmware.

This isn't an issue with this build I don't think, but actually from incorrectly erasing NVRAM on the ACCCU. It should always be done from the web interface to reset to default values instead of completely erasing it.

To fix see the third post in this forum thread https://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=282759&sid=c69b30c01ef8bb436c3ed156b718befc or clearer instructions on this reddit post https://www.reddit.com/r/DDWRT/comments/5rlm6x/no_5ghz_tab_on_rtac66u_2_interfaces_or_3/dd99fj4/

in order to get my ipv6 working I had to power off the router and the modem and when it came back it showed my ipv4 and ipv6 ip addys.

Which one did you boot first modem or router? I would assume modem?

I plugged them both in at the same time, for some reason if the modem is loaded before the router I won't get a wan connection so I have to make sure the router is booted before the modem. Either ipv6 or dnscrypt is screwed up on the newer builds but if use default settings then my router will reboot and connect just fine.

Router/Version: Netgear R7000
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r35831 (04/26/1Cool
Kernel: Linux 4.4.129 #2998 SMP Wed Apr 25 09:03:12 CEST 2018 armv7l
Reset?/Mode: Yes
Issues/Errors: Will not pass traffic between WAN and LAN. DNS resolution works, and I'm able to ping external addresses from the router itself. However, pinging from a computer on the local network to an external address does not work.

EDIT: This may have been my ISP. I'll do some more investigation tomorrow, but hold your hats on this one.

Forgot to report another problem:

I turned on the SSHD service when I found that I was unable to reach internet from LAN. When I tried to connect to DD-WRT BS build 35831 using Putty, I got NO connection.

So I was unable to go command-line to find out what's really wrong with this build. And that drove me to revert back to 35770.

I am using Asus RT-N18U.

Did you try telnet? It is enabled by default unless you turned it off.

Never mind, this was NOT an ISP issue.
Adding ANY port forward rule clobbers iptables. Removing or disabling the rule makes WAN suddenly allows traffic to pass again.

I turned both Telnet and SSH off to avoid security issues. I didn't try Telnet. Maybe the next build should it had problems again... Smile

When I changed my management port to 81, I was no longer able to ping anything via wan. Even via IP, to verify dns was not a problem. I factory reset again and routing is working.
