evening folks
can anyone confirm if the reboot issues have been put to rest with v35244?
I've been on the r34760 with kernel 4.9.79-rc1 on my v1 and my uptime is currently 4 days, 20:55 . No reboots or PPPoE disconnects. This is the first time since I bought this router years ago that this thing has actually worked properly. Great work to everyone involved

Don't hold your breath... see if it runs for two weeks without rebooting _________________ Linksys WRT32X v1 - r45677

I upgraded to r35244 from r31924 via GUI without resetting.
Up for 44 hours so far.
My setup is not overly complex (non-standard: no DHCP, Static IP's, QoS, Access Restrictions), but even r31924 never lasted longer than 11 days uptime.
Eventually it restarted at the 50 hour mark - at night with no one using the internet...
I'm wondering whether to try r34760 next and see if that one lasts longer than r35244. _________________ ------------------------------------

I'd like 7 days.
I usually do a reboot every week anyway.
Currently at 55 hours.
Just noticed that there's a new build this morning r35384.
It'd be nice to have a changelog.
I'll wait for feedback from brave early users before trying it. _________________ ------------------------------------

And there's me thinking that you were that "brave early user" _________________ Linksys WRT32X v1 - r45677

Ha!
My definition of brave is a bit like Sir Humphrey's on Yes Minister.
brave = foolhardy
So far r35244 is up for 80.5 hours.
It hasn't decided to do an "IT Crowd" and turn itself off and on again yet.
Edit:
now at 5 days 7 hours
Looks like r35244 is now the latest release; r35384 has been removed.
Bravery restored! _________________ ------------------------------------

Five days on r35384 so far. I've done some large transfers over wifi that would have crashed it previously and things seem to be working well. I'll update you guys in a week or two.
Looks like Gazooo has opened a ticket on CPU idle for the WRT1900AC v1(#6241).
Hopefully BS will incorporate it in a future build - no ideas of the release number at present. _________________ ------------------------------------

I've been trialing some of the newer builds on my WRT1900ACv1 to see if they're rebooting:
r34760 - Reboot1 - 96.5 hrs
Reboot2 - 79.5 hrs
r35244 - Reboot1 - 55 hrs
Reboot2 - 120+ hrs (local power failure)
r35452 - Reboot1 - 55 hrs
Reboot2 - 84 hrs
Reboot3 - 8 hrs
r35531 - currently at 7.5 hrs
Also been getting wifi dropouts when downloading on laptop (5GHz) and doing a speedtest on mobile (also 5GHz) - no dropouts if not at same time.
I've been offered a lightly used WRT3200ACM for under $100; can't decide if I should spring for it. _________________ ------------------------------------

@nickant
Even a heavily used wrt3200 would be better then the wrt1900ac v1 if you are going to stay with the WRT's in my opinion. At least you don't have to deal with the reboot issues and have a higher performing router. The wireless drivers are getting good now.
So if you are going to stay with the WRT's do yourself a favor and get the wrt3200.
Thanks for the reply, Bill.
Seller now seems a bit hesitant to ship the unit interstate, so I will see if I can get it.
So far, 24 hours on r35531 without issues.
I tried downloading a big file on my laptop and running Speedtest on my mobile last night to see if I could get wifi to drop out.
It didn't after 3 attempts.
r34760 would drop out every time, so a definite improvement. _________________ ------------------------------------

If you can get a lightly used 3200ACM for under $100
you should jump, as it is a great router.
Now if you have to have a Stable wireless network you should maybe look for something else.
I have read some good stuff about the Linksys EA8500 and just bought one myself today, but you have to get
a USB to TTL cable and open the unit to flash it.
But from what I have read it has a fantastic wifi radio in it.
The good thing is you can get them for $100 or less on ebay.
I only found out about the EA 8500 from a link that ( 05dyna ) had posted in another thread so Kudos to him!!
Good luck which ever way you go.
