I have 2 dd-wrt routers, one my primary and the other as a repeater.

On the primary router, I have SSID1 and SSID2. SSID1 (physical interface) has a subnet of 192.168.10.0/24 and SSID2 192.168.11.0/24 (virtual).

I added the secondary router in repeater mode to extend SSID2 and can connect to the primary router (using the SSID2 and key on primary) and see it in Status etc. I create a new virtual SSID on the repeater but I do not see this SSID even if it's set to broadcast.

What am I doing wrong here?

Cannot help you without knowing what router models & version numbers and also what dd-wrt build is installed on each .... exact build number --- the complete file name of firmware you installed would be most helpful also.

EDIT:
Also welcome to the dd-wrt forums Razz

If you look in the forums index you will find a sub-forum that pertains to your router model.
A good place for answers will be there.
Also a google search with your router model + dd-wrt + repeater will also probably give you lots info.

I can't really think of a 'repeater' question that has not been answered before.

good luck -

The primary router is an Asus RT-N66U (DD-WRT v24-sp2)

The other acting as a repeater is an Asus WL-500G (dd-wrt.v24-13064)

Thanks

oh I see ... I'm not going to say since I don't own either but someone will know.

Best place would be in the broadcom forums ...I'll see about getting you moved over there ....

I can now get the SSID on the repeater to show up by resetting it starting again.

On the repeater, I've set the DHCP forwarder to 192.168.11.1 but I do not get an IP and I do not see a dhcp lease on the primary router. I also cannot ping 192.168.11.1.
