Using Linksys by Cicso E3000 v1
Problem persists regradless of connection. Standalone, connect to a single desktop, connected to FTTH internet via an ONT, or wireless lan client.

I was running Kong 22000++ then decided to upgrade to Kernel 3.x version, I reverted back to OEM firmware before following these three steps.

Three steps required to get K3.x on the unit:
1 - K2.6_21676_mini_e3000 ....wait 5 minutes....hard reset.....next load from the GUI
2 - K2.6_21676_mega_nv60K ....wait 5 minutes....hard reset.....next load from the GUI
3 - K3.x_21676_mega_nv60K...wait 5 minutes....hard reset.

------------------
I am now running:

DD-WRT v24-sp2 (05/27/13) mega - build 21676
Linux 3.9.4 #125 Mon May 27 10:19:14 CEST 2013 mips

Since installing this version I cannot make A-N-Y changes via the web based gui. Example-I cannot change the SSID from the default 'dd-wrt' to 'MyHouse99', I also cannot change the wireless channel.

I will select the options and setting I want to apply, but as soon as my mouse pointer hovers over the <Apply Seettings> button at the bottom of the page ALL options
instantly change back to their default settings. I have tried clicking <Save> button first then <Apply Settings>, but the setting always end up at the default. The <Cancel Changes> button does nothing.

This problem persists across multiple browsers - Firefox, Chrome, IE11, MS Edge, Avant, Maxthon, Safari, and Opera. I can also replicate the behavior using the those same browsers using CentOS, MacOS, Windows 10, Windows 7, iOS, and Android OS which lead me to believe the problem is in the WebGUI.

I was not able to find a solution so I went back to Kong 22000++, using the exact same download I originally used. Now the same problem is occurring in Kong WebGUI.

I have a second E3000 still running Kong 22000++. I was able to open the WebGUI of each router in separate tabs in the same broswer. I cannot make changes to the E3000 after re-installing Kong 22000++, but the second E3000 that was not updated operates and responds correctly.
--------------------

At a later time I will try restoring a NVRAM backup for the affected device from well before the K3.x upgrade attempt.

I will also be trying to recreate this behavior on three other devices - A 2nd E3000, WRT610N, WRT310N

If you want to use a K3 build then I suggest using 33215
K3 builds are slower then K2.6 but newer builds have SFE, which speeds traffic over the WAN quite considerably.

Those earlier K3 builds are really experimental, if you want earlier builds stick with K2.6

For the build thread see: http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=310807&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

You're manually setting up after this right, not using a nvram backup? Try `erase nvram` from telnet, if that is safe on the E3000. For reference, the 21676 New Build thread has others using that k3x build and router.

But ya, as egc said, try build 33215.

Sorry I inadvertently said NVRAM when I should have said CFE.
Even thou I do not use the nvram backup feature, I did try erase nvram via telnet.

I also found that using the keyboard to click <Apply Settings> button worked, but a mouse hover or mouse click still clears all uncommitted changes.

I'm still wondering how this problem survived a hard reset, an install of a previous version followed by another hard reset, and still exhibit itself in an earlier version that didn't have the problem.

just move to a newer build, those ancient builds have a lot of problems as well security issues, make sure to erase nvram prior to upgrade and after ....
