Greetings

I've got a TP-Link Archer VR400 VDSL modem/router. It is the EU version purchased and used in the Czech Republic

I have a simple question; does DD-WRT firmware work on routers with modems? What I want is to configure PIA on my router, but I don't know if this will disable/remove the modem function, or cause my ISP (O2) to not allow me to connect.

If DD-WRT is not possible on a router that has a VDSL modem then I'll purchase a router without a modem. In fact, I already have, a Linksys WRT1900ACS. The DD-WRT firmware will go on the WRT1900ACS, it gets connected to the VR400, and the WiFi gets turned off on the VR400.

Advice, positive or negative, is very welcome. I'd also like to know if my Linksys choice was a good one.

Thanks in advance.
