Hi,

I have another of those 'use dd-wrt to connect to eduroam' questions. Mainly, I'm looking for a hardware recommendation and if my idea is feasible, or if another might work better:

What I want to achieve, is to have a single device, that connects to eduroam ('as wan', eduroam requires 802.1x authentication with PEAP) and provides my home network with another Wi-Fi+LAN. I'd like the connection to eduroam be at least N standard, preferred with a card that supports AC.

I think the best solution is to buy:
* An AC-router with a USB port, that supports DD-WRT
* A USB-Wi-Fi adaptor that supports the AC standard and an external antenna
* A directional Wi-Fi antenna for the USB-Wi-Fi adaptor

My questions are:

1) Is my idea feasible with DD-WRT or would I be better of using another solution at all? Might there be a solution that only requires one device all together?

2) Do you have hardware recommendations, available in Europe, that work together 'out of the box', meaning, that I don't need to build a special version of DD-WRT but can just buy the three pieces of hardware, connect everything, flash DD-WRT and configure the router to be a client on the one side and a host on the other.

Thanks for any help and advice!
