To be on a safe side, please check the size of new firmware file before flashing it to your router. Flashing too large firmware file can brick your router. (Netgear Routers often cannot flash standard builds because of the extra partition they have on the flash chip.)
2MB flash chip / normal cfe (256k) : 1769472 bytes
2MB flash chip / compressed cfe (128k): 1900544 bytes
4MB flash chip (not Netgear): 3801088 bytes
4MB flash chip Netgear routers: 3735552 bytes
8MB flash chip: 7995392 bytes

UPDATE: Ran router under REPEATER config and all is well so far. Speedtest resulted in 25Mbps download speeds which is EXPECTED for my connection type.

all looks good.

both are 8,000,512 bytes
NOTE: other users of the K3.x_mega-nv64k.bin -- this WILL NOT likely install on other 8MB flash routers
and won't even come close to installing on a WNDR3700v3 .....sorry!!!

No boot loop everything seems stable. noticing an error on the status page though it appears something is undefined.
Edit: it appears this has cleared up quick instead of undefined it's now showing as CPU features.

In general, seems like proper channel ranges are now available instead of just auto plus one or two other channels on 5ghz radios.
Curious to see if 2.4Ghz is better on my R8500. My wife's printer kept going offline after a couple of days and 2.4ghz throughput from Internet (via speedtest) was down to about 40% of what I was getting on 5Ghz.

Excellent. Now, spam the developers with this about 3x a day until they get back to their senses. Tens of bugs reports and complaints here have failed to achieve that result.

UPDATE2:Now running router under AP configuration and everything seems to be working as expected. Ran the REPEATER for roughly 6hours without an issue and also the AP config for 6 hours without an issue. Connectivity seems to be strong and steady. Wish I could say the same with the wife!!

Well...I've never heard of any new CFE's being generated for the newer model routers. Probably because there hasn't been a need (until now). I recall BS was trying to squeeze a CFE down to 192K on the older WRT54 (4M Flash models) and possibly some of the Asus units about 5 years ago. It would be interesting to know if its possible with the newer units or if they have become so configuration heavy that they take up the majority of the 256K and we can't squeeze them down. In any event, the current builds are 7999K+....so even a compressed CFE wouldn't help us.
