I've tried to upgrade my firmware several times with no luck. Firmware date is 1/2015, trying to upgrade to a newer firmware. I've tried the following upgrade at: http://www.dd-wrt.com/routerdb/de/download/Netgear/WNDR3700/v3/dd-wrt.v24-21061_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-WNDR3700v3.chk/4036

When I flash the firmware, the router reboots, all lights are fine, router is online but shows the old firmware, cannot get it updated. I'm missing an IPV6 tab and missing OpenVPN Client tabs to configure them.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong!! Any help would be appreciated.

If you're already running DD, you don't need the .chk file, use nv64k.bin:
ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2017/08-25-2017-r33215/broadcom_K3X/dd-wrt.v24-33215_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-nv64k.bin

My WNDR4000 is the same hardware, running k3x 33215, and that build has SFE accelerated NAT if you're running it as a gateway router. This ticket does show this k3x build used on the 3700v3. Don't use any other recent build for now. Of course do a reset and manually set up.

Curious.....when you said "Of course do a reset and manually set up", do you mean by the way of command line interface?

I'm just learning about routers, firmware, networking. And if you did, can you provide a link or point me in the right direction for instructions?

I GREATLY appreciate it jwh7.

I meant in general; GUI "factory reset" should be fine, or holding the reset button until the lights flash (usually). Doing a CLI `erase nvram` shouldn't be done on certain models, so one would have to read their device wiki and model threads, etc. Btw, have you read the Peacock announcement? Smile
