TP Link Archer c7 v2 US
Previous version: 33342
Factory Reset: Yes
I could not update via the GUI without resetting the settings to factory defaults then doing the update. I also tried tftp both before and after resetting factory defaults but tftp would not work. So TP Link users try resetting to factory defaults and upgrading via the GUI. I have had to do this in the past, updates always started working like normal afterward.

I have to disagree, I had to do the exact same thing to get mine updated.
TFTPD32 isnt working on my WR1043ND V2. It's not bricked or something, just I cant upgrade.
I changed the ethernet ip for 192.168.0.66 with 255.255.255.0 netmask but nothing when I unplugged the routeur and plug again holding the reset button.
Nothing on "log viewer" too. seems like it doesnt try to find the firmware.
my firewall is off
any idea why ?
thanks
Using the tftp method, you need to rename the firmware image to whatever the router is asking for. In your case, it would be wr1043v1_tp_recovery.bin or wr1043v2_tp_recovery.bin. If the filename doesn't match, you will have no luck. You can't just place any random file in the tftp upload directory and expect the router to accept it.
The current build (r33413) seems to have the same issue with tplink devices as r33375:
I tried to downgrade my WR1043ND V1 from r33413 to a previous version like r33345 or r33342, but I experienced the same behavior as with r33375: The router almost immediately reboots after starting the upgrade and does not change the version. I expect that once a newer version will be available, it cannot be applied with web upgrade from this version too.
I ran several tests (going over the stock firmware with the TFTP method) and identified r33345 as the last version that allows up- and downgrade through the web gui.
