EA8500 Cool
DD-WRT v3.0-r33375 std (09/19/17)
Linux 3.18.71 #178 SMP PREEMPT Tue Sep 19 00:24:45 CEST 2017 armv7l
No Reset
Good
USB automount works fine on da EA8500

Worked good when it worked & wireless was great but --
in day 4 it rebooted --- can't have that crap
So I booted back into r33345

Something goes nuts and you instantly blame it on DD-WRT ... WTH??

This reboot error mess was caused by gufusass on my network installing a crap app.
It seems the yahoo app store's Google Play Movies & TV was installed on the TV and when activated/setup it
caused an untold amount of trouble. Might be it's in some type conflict with chromecast that is also connected to TV.
Chromecast is of course always on and don't cause any trouble -- we do alot with it.
The TV is hardwired but on same network as chromecast. Don't really know what reason for problem but it was
constant with other routers and other dd-wrt builds.... it'll kill the routers within 1 minute.
All apps on TV are from Yahoo app store ( yea don't even get me started 'bout what I think there ).
Sometimes just use Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, YouTube direct from TV app rather than Chromecast and all is good but
the google play movies & tv app from yahoo is a killer ..... it has been deleted off the TV.
All is well now. .... so I'll still give love to r33375

Still does not work firmware update via web interface.
The file is loaded and nothing happens.

Last working version 33180.

Hi Igor, you can try the "telnet method" to upgrade. This works as long as your DLink-615 is in router mode (wan enabled). If it's in AP mode, it will not work (wan disabled)

1.) download putty and telnet into your router (192.168.1.1)
username=root, password=router password)

2.) at prompt (#) type:

cd /tmp

3.) then type:

wget ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2017/09-19-2017-r33375/dlink-dir615e3/dir615e3-firmware.bin

4.) then type:

write dir615e3-firmware.bin linux

It will start to upgrade, give time until complete

5.) when completed, type "reboot" and it will reboot the router. Wait a few minutes after it reboots and log back into the webgui.

As with any flashing, there's always a risk to brick unit. However this is the step I used with my Dlink 615-E3, and it's working ok.

Thanks gadgetpig!

used that method to successfully upgrade two of my D-Link DIR-615 E3s which were also failing to upgrade via web-gui.

fyi; WAN does not need to be enabled - mine is disabled and assigned to the switch.

in any case, enable telnet: webgui -> services -> services -> Telnet: Enable -> Save -> Apply

Maybe the file is to big to flash. Please make the picture smaller.

There is a sticky at the top of this forum labeled "files for reverting to stock"
It's a good idea the read the announcements and stickies at the top of a forum.
