giles02134 To answer your question about retaining configuration after upgrade:

As long as you don't choose a reset in the Firmware Upgrade Sub Tab your settings will be kept and applied to new build.

Thanks very much. That's what I've assumed from reading through your notes and others, but I wasn't certain.

In your experience, is that "Best Practice"? Or do you prefer a reset after upgrade, and then re-enter all the settings? It wouldn't be the end of the world if I had to do that...just inconvenient.

I haven't reset since about 10 builds ago and I've never had a problem.

My setup isn't very elaborate. It would only take around 10-15 minutes for me to re-enter everything.
Awhile back I took a screenshot of each page in the GUI just in case I need to refresh my memory.

My personal recommendation is: only reset if there's a problem after you upgrade.

@tiwale You have a very old version of DD-WRT. I would suggest upgrading and then follow the instructions for uploading Stock Firmware

New builds here:
ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2017/

I was using ac1900 as opposed to ea6900. It seems to take the ea6900 april 4-24-r31899. I will use it and see if the problems persist. I was getting disconnected like crazy.

Thank you for your help

Spur, this is my main problem. It will not let me upgrade nor downgrade to anything. I tried webflash as well as factory-dd-wrt images, reset, everything

My bad, I thought you were trying to upload Linksys firmware from GUI in much older build.

I’m not all that familiar with the EA6900, but I don’t think it has separate partitions. Only the WRT series.

Have you followed this guide:

I added some more information to the sticky that hopefully will help with the questions about recommending builds as well as a 'Change Log'.

New info preceded by BLUE
