Earlier this year, while running the Linksys firmware 1.1.10.167514, I was having WI-FI slow downs that router reboots seemed to fix. Per some post suggestions, I installed DD-WRT build 31277 on my router. Recently, I started having issues with the router slowing down or totally losing Internet connection that a power off/on would correct temporarily. I ended up booting back to the stock partition withe the Linksys firmware to see if that would change things. I believe that I can use the Linksys UI Restore previous firmware to boot back to the DD-WRT firmware. Correct? Should I try a newer DD-WRT build (e.g. r32763 instead)? If so, from the Linksys UI, I would just need to do a Manual Router Firmware Update to overwrite my old DD-WRT partition with the newer version and customize it. Correct? I just wanted to make sure that I don't overwrite my stock Linksys firmware.

Thanks, Troy

Not sure what you're talking about, this is the Marvell forum.

As long as you are flashing from the Linksys UI, you will not overwrite that partition. It flashes on the opposite partition from the firmware you are currently running. I'd recommend trying the latest build.

I recommend r31924, which has been rock solid for me.

I am currently testing the latest release, but it is too early to assess its stability.

I have found that method to be the easiest. I will reboot to Linksys partition using ssh, and then go to Troubleshoot-> restore to previous firmware to get back to the DD-WRT partition. Flipping the power switch is hit or miss when I try.

I use r31924 as suggested by someone else. Plan on sticking with that until assumed 1900ac V1 kernel problems have been resolved. Yes, use Linksys UI manual firmware update. I restore DD-WRT to factory defaults before updating.

If the reboots seemed to help, you can always go to Administration-> Keep alive to set your router to do scheduled reboots also.

The latest Beta build might be your best bet. r32868 2017-07-27
I don't recall seeing reports of people having problems with it for wrt1200 routers.

you can find it here
ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2017/

Sorry, but r32868 caused my WRT1900AC v1 to reboot after ten hours, with SFE disabled. This release is NOT stable on this particular router model.

No surprise. The wrt1900ac v1 is not happy with any kernel later then 4.4.

Are you looking in the correct spot?

Status tab--> OpenVPN tab

Does it say Client: CONNECTED SUCCESS?

If so could be just you

Very Happy

Yes it was showing Connected but no OpenVPN server log printed. I think it could issue with restoring configuration from old build. May be I should try to configure from scratch.
