i'm very confused. i know the r31924 build has been pulled but it has been running for >38 days straight for me. i'm reading about problems with the 4.9 kernel and the latest bs june build, but it's not clear if these bugs are problematic for the wrt1900ac v1.

    1) has anyone with the wrt1900ac v1 upgraded with success and no reboots?
    2) what's the risk of staying with 31924 until this stuff gets sorted out??

thanks in advance, k.

The 31924 works great for me.

I upgraded to 32170 a day or two after it was released. At first - no problems, then it would crash approximately every 24 hours. After about 4 or 5 days it was crashing & self-rebooting every 4 to 6 hours.

I switched partitions back to 31924 and it's been running great ever since.

My quess is he pulled it just to be safe. Perhaps both builds shared some of the same code that caused the problem with the GUI on 32170.

For some reason 32170 was the first build where my Samba Share NAS automatically reconnected at startup.
All previous builds I have to disconnect then reconnect my external drive once the router is fully online.
Not a big deal - very minor inconvenience.

I thought that r31924 was pulled due to serious issues with some Broadcom chipsets, which did not affect the Marvell chipsets. As the Broadcom routers vastly outnumber the Marvell routers, I guess that it was easier to pull the entire r31924 release set, rather than just the Broadcom routers within it.

In answer to the OPs original question, I too found the r32170 release unstable following a number of days without issue. I rolled back to r31924 which has been very stable for me.

guys, thanks so much for your pithy and direct responses.

i've not been aware of any build being pulled from the download site. i have a background in security and and was worried that there might have been a hole or backdoor in the code.

i'll stay with 31924 for now but again, many thanks.

good to know that it works now. i had the same problem with 31924 and sent a private msg to bs about it. he had me send a couple logs and replied that he found a field/size problem. Smile he found it pdq too!

really glad we have him especially since kong's gone poof!

Does anyone have all the 31924 build BIN files for all of the WRTXX00 routers that could be posted in this thread, since this currently appears to be the most stable build for these routers.

I did manage to find the copy I downloaded for the WRT1200AC v2 which is attached. I can't help with the other variants of this router.

Thanks for posting that. I've been hunting it for awhile. Anyone have the matching 31924 factory-to-ddwrt.bin for the 1200acv2?

Sorry for the noob question, but would I be able to flash this through the Linksys UI by using the Factory to DD-WRT file? Or these BIN files are just to flash within DD-RWT itself?

Yes the factory to ddwrt will install fine from the Linksys UI. I rename the file to .img rather then leaving it as .bin. Just my way of keeping things straight.

Just a fyi I always flash from the Linksys UI so that it is always available so. I do flash other firmware from time to time such as LEDE and Gargoyle so the Linksys UI is needed. Infact right now I am running davidc502's LEDE on my wrt3200.

I too have been having loads of issues with 32170. It restarts after 24 hours and on high load.

Is it possible to just re-flash an older firmware, such as 31825, through the DD-WRT WebUI?

Hi Myersw, you said to rename the extension from .bin to .img? I downloaded the file from spuriousoffspring. I am getting ready to do the 30/30/30 and upload 31924 factory-to-ddwrt.bin.

Thank you
