This build thread is for reporting successes and problem with loading this experimental test build. This is important info for developers and users. Always state your hardware and SPECIFIC build (e.g. 29440_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-nv64k.bin). Do not ask questions about your specific router or how to configure it in this thread; create your own thread to discuss any specific problems you have or need resolved. Please also do not respond to such questions. This thread is to report info, not to seek it. Posts that do not add to understanding this build will be deleted. Make sure you know how to flash properly and the risk before using this build. It is important to adhere to these requirements, to keep this thread from becoming impossibly long and useless. If you don't know what build to flash and how to flash properly and have a means of recovery if things should go wrong, do NOT flash this experimental test build. _________________ Atheros

Status: Working as a gateway and another as an Access Point. QoS and OpenVPN server on the gateway work fine.

Upgraded via "ddup --flash-latest", so far so good. Seems like a improvement over the previous build already. _________________ Deployed Routers:

Updated from 31520M by GUI, did not reset nvram (it was reset and manually entered for 31520M).
WAN, dual band WiFi plus 2.4GHz guest network, static IP's, dnsmasg, VPN with policy based routing and firewall killswitch, dnscrypt, dnssec, port forwarding, QoS, ...
Up for 4 hours, no errors.
EDIT: this morning, VPN status showed TUN/TAP write bytes 0, no internet through VPN. Same issue seen in previous builds.
... and, command 'egrep' is missing, had to modify my backup script to instead use 'grep -E'.

I've been experiencing hard lockups with v3.0-r31160M kongac and was hoping that v3.0-r31160M kongac would solve the problem, but I experienced a hard lockup less than one day after upgrading. Power cycle solved the issue, as it did in the previous version.
Syslog shows:

up for ~2 hours, no issues. I was getting intermittent lockups (about once per month) and what looked like wireless shutdown and restart (router uptime didn't change but all wireless devices lost connectivity for about 30 seconds) about once every week or two on the old build. Hopefully this one addresses whatever was causing that.

Errors: Useage None so far however, Only thing is prior to the last update, I used the nvram backup and restore scripts with no issue.
I was trying to use this after the update and now get egrep: not found.
Has this had egrep removed? I've searched around and can't see anything.

enabled autoupdate and waited 2 days. it did not update. not sure if autoupdate has been implemented or is just been added to gui for future. did ddup via ddup --flash-unattended as this is what autoupdate should be doing.
KONG, please let us know the status of autoupdate and how to use it.
using vpn via PIA. all seems to be working so far.

On my r8000, after 24 hours of 31575 I seen my wifi cameras went offline. Wasn't able to do further testing but a router reboot brought them back. I don't think I've had that on the last few builds, although I feel the last few builds I've had, people note strange little connectivity issues and such that a quick reboot fixed, so I've been rebooting occasionally. It's been awhile since I've had a build that's felt stable with more than a week of up time.
But... with occasionally rebooting them.. my 6300v2, r7000, and r8000 have been working well =)
All have fairly basic static setups besides the r8000 has some isolated guest networks. _________________ R8000~Kong R7000~Kong R6300v2~Kong WNDR3700v4~BS
