You are right, that is exactly what that connector is.
I have since acquired a couple of cables on eBay that snap on and work nicely. They are U.FL to RP-SMA and a search there will turn up hundreds of them in various lengths.
It would be nice if all wi-fi routers put those fitting on the PCB. In most cases I have found RP-SMA on the antenna end then stripped and bared cable end that is solder to two solder pads on the PCB. But that is easy enough to do too if you are adept at soldering.
