wow thanks. would have screwed that up, I thought power settings were kept in a different location on v1 and v2, so i thought that using the FW marked v2 was important
So in what circumstances would someone use the v2 file?
I have flashed ACS, V1 and v2 on my wrt1900acs and there was not much problem if I recall correctly. I remember it failing to boot a couple of times after flashing image(s), but there is an easy way to restore the stock linksys image even with dd-wrt flashed to both partitions. I can't remember exactly how, but it involves the reset button. I'm used to doing 30/30/30 resets on other routers, and it works on this router to recover to the stock linksys image, without me knowing what I'm doing exactly. Could be as easy as holding the reset button for 10 seconds.

If they have a wrt1900ac v2. There is a reason it is called wrt1900 v2 in the firmware name.
Myeah, did all the obvious stuff - I've run DD-WRT for years and years so don't think I've done something stupid (though never know, of course). Going to try the recommended build (30796) and see where I go from there.
