hi all, got a WRT1900ACS v2 today

kong's website shows a version for

ACS

and

ACv2 (with no 'S')

I assume I should use the ACv2? but I would have expected ACSv2.

can anyone confirm I should use the v2 version, even though there is no 'S'

You would use the wrt1900acs version. The v2 is just to meet FCC regs.

wow thanks. would have screwed that up, I thought power settings were kept in a different location on v1 and v2, so i thought that using the FW marked v2 was important

So in what circumstances would someone use the v2 file?

I have flashed ACS, V1 and v2 on my wrt1900acs and there was not much problem if I recall correctly. I remember it failing to boot a couple of times after flashing image(s), but there is an easy way to restore the stock linksys image even with dd-wrt flashed to both partitions. I can't remember exactly how, but it involves the reset button. I'm used to doing 30/30/30 resets on other routers, and it works on this router to recover to the stock linksys image, without me knowing what I'm doing exactly. Could be as easy as holding the reset button for 10 seconds.

If they have a wrt1900ac v2. There is a reason it is called wrt1900 v2 in the firmware name. Very Happy

Hi,

Just got a new WRT1900ACSv2 as well - about to go home and flash it.

Did the WRT1900ACS_factory_to_dd-wrt.img image flash successfully and what are you day-to-day running experience?

Hey grither - I tried flashing to Kong 2017-01-08 tonight but couldn't get either wifi (2.4GHz and 5 GHz) to work. Have you had any problems?

... and I take it there wasn't any set of configurations you had to do?

My 5 GHz channel showed "unknown", even when hard set to a specific channel.

Myeah, did all the obvious stuff - I've run DD-WRT for years and years so don't think I've done something stupid (though never know, of course). Going to try the recommended build (30796) and see where I go from there.
