I tried few of the latest Kong firmwares for WRT1900ACS, and I cannot get any virtual interface that I create in 2.4Ghz to work. With some of them the network appear briefly then disappear.
Builds that I tried:
Kong's 29750 build of 26 May '16
Kong's 29770 build of 29 May '16
Kong's 29825 build of 4 June '16
Kong's 29845 build of 8 June '16
Kong's 29900 build of 12 June '16

With the exact same settings the virtual interface that create on my TL-WR842ND works like a charm.
Any idea what should I do?

Were you certain to setup a DHCP pool for this network? I'm running a virtual interface on the last 4-5 Kong builds for my GuestNetwork with no issues.
Router became unresponsive today after about 4 days uptime on r29900M. This build was even working earlier today but somehow lost both wired & wireless access about an hour ago. I powered the router off/on to get it back online. I’ll be going back to one of the older builds.

As I write I have achieved 4 days and 16 hours without problems on either ethernet or wireless. It's strange how with the same hardware and firmware we get differing results. For instance, my radio settings are the default ones, including 'Auto' channel selection, and I've not had any snags.
(Am I tempting fate!)

Understood and just to add to what you said which is a very valid point about the "same hardware and firmware" I'm thinking some setting or combination of settings on my end could have made the difference.
For example I use the wireless scheduling which is one of the main attractions of dd-wrt for me. For all I know that could have crashed it today. The router was working before the wireless was scheduled to come on for the day. Best I could tell the router crashed very close to the wireless start time, so was that the cause? I don’t know....
EDIT: reset router to back to default and added a few custom settings back, will try r29900M build again.
EDIT-2: Looking back my router crash may have been an issue with a 2TB 2.5 inch Sata drive I added to the router as a NAS with DLNA functionally. I’m thinking the drive (in the enclosure) may have been drawing to much current at some point and crashed the router, previously I thought it was the wireless scheduling.
I found documented elsewhere the router will provide adequate current for a thumb drive but the larger external drives need an additional power supply so I thinking the 2.5 inch drive was right on the margin with respect to power requirements. I went back to a standard thumb drive and up just over 3 days. The plan going forward is to look for maximum uptime since I don’t need to make any changes.

Brew, I am not sure where I can define the DHCP for the virtual interface. To be honest I thought it was done by default. I have attached a few print-outs of my config.

Having browser pauses on links for a few seconds then fine again on Kong 29900. Multiple PC's and OS's. Never had this issue before and only change was the firmware update. Happened for 2 days before I changed firmware then fine again.
I had been running davidc502's Openwrt build and when I re-installed it the pauses went away. No more issues. Router is WRT1900AC V1
Something up. Maybe with the WAN connection firmware as there is a thread about lease time issues?
