Has there been any progress on the R7500v2? I see the R7800 has gotten support in the latest build.

dont think any of our devs have one yet..at this point it would be better to sell it while its still worth a decent amount & go to r7800 or ea8500

Not easy to sell used routers even if they are in near new condition where I am.

Is it worth to buy the r7500v2 and wait or go straight to the 7800? But is almost 100€ more here in Italy Embarassed there's a "price hole" between the r7000 (150€) and the r7800 (290€)... I'm undecided and in waiting for the support to the r7500v2 or TP-LINK C2600 (both are in the 200€ target).

Based on your info I would go for the R7000. The R7500V2 is very similar to the R7800, same Qualcomm chip family but with some differences so support is lacking at this time but that might change in the future. Netgear hardware is pretty good but the Asus software is better. The R7000 is very well supported.

Thank you! Yes r7800 is much expensive, the 7500v2 is interesting because of the 512mb RAM and 1.4ghz Qualcomm CPU for an interesting price! I'll wait or I'll buy the r7000!

Has the dev team abandon the 7500v2 project? Or is it just not possible?

A physical unit is needed for that. Hasn't happened yet, but sooner or later it will.
I'm also waiting for a R7500v2 build - great router:

ea8500?

It's a great router but I don't like the Linksys.

Anyway yesterday I've ordered the R7800 but after reading of a lot of problems also with it (no led or jffs working and trouble to go back to stock firmware), I deleted my order from Amazon and ordered an old but solid R7000 Smile

As soon as the R7500v2 will be well supported, I'll sell the R7000 for it because 512mb of ram and 1.4ghz Qualcomm Kraith CPU for 200€ are fantastic (I paid 165€ for the R7000....).

I anxiously following this discussion Very Happy I can (and I've done) donate 10/20€ but not a 200€ router Sad

Take a look at the last column for the R7500 v2 here: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices#Netgear
And send me a PM, I'll give you the needed details (I've donated units before and can help you with the process).

If you actually send a unit, and the team confirms receipt, shoot me your PayPal info. I will send a little something to help offset the cost you put up for us.
