I read it from an old post that someone accidentally flashed DD-WRT for C9 into his C8 and everything seems fine. I'm wondering if there is anyone else also running C9 firmware on your C8 and can share your experience? Like Wan/Lan, Lan/Lan, 5G and QoS performance?
In fact, I'm sort of choosing between Archer C8 or C5. Both are great routers according to smallnetbuilder reviews. I prefer C8 since my impression is QCA version DD-WRT is more buggy (correct me if I'm wrong, will happily choose C5 for half of C8's cost). But It's a little bit confusing when I found out that C8 has no support as other routers with BCM4708 clearly do.
it would help if the guy who said he got it working would tell us which tp-link firmware he was on previously and which dd-wrt firmware he got working on the C8.
other than that someone with a C8 will have to give it a try. _________________ Please state what make and model router plus the build number and type of DD-WRT you are using.
