I'm not getting anything from the serial port.

The same cable works fine with another unit (wrt54g v2), so I can probably say that the cable is good.

I will recheck the pin

another thing....double check your JTAG solder connections...make sure you don't have a cold solder joint....hit all of them with heat again.
