I think that ebay one will work but not sure. There is a 14 pin connector on board like the 14 pin on ebay Jtag. Don't remember which end is which so you may need an ohm meter to find the grounds pins ...

I used GUI to setup a VLAN3 on a jack with a separate subnet and DHCP.
Problem is all traffic blocked from WAN on that jack.

Made it work however with firewall rule:
iptables -I INPUT -i vlan3 - ...

TFTP wouldn't work.
Serial RS-232 wouldn't work.
jtag worked!

I knew I flashed the wrong restore bin (NVram)

maybe its the firmware build. There was a bad build near the beginning of june where some repoted that the WAN port didnt work at all on sone routers. try a different build, newer ofr older.

The GUI Tutorial you referenced worked for me. Seemed a little buggy while setting up. Had to refresh pages and start from main menu a few times.
