Diid you try "ipkg install hostapd"? You can also download it manually by typing "wget" url to file if ipkg does not work for you.

Try to find exploits in the web interface, aside from that serial console sounds like a sure thing. I don't think fon would make the same mistake 3 times.

Actually, if we read the hardware specs not from fon we would realize that there is tolerance from about 5-15VDC. I seem to remember reading that in the meraki mini hardware specs.
