I was able to dim mine a great deal by using a sharpie on the LEDs and on the end of the plastic pieces that go down to the LEDs on the cover. You can still see them, but they don't light up the wall ...

Just plug and play. I have that setup. Works fine with no real configuration to make it work. Then just tweak whatever settings your heart desires.

Try plugging the router directly into the computer (setting up your computer with a static IP) and use the command line method to downgrade to a different version.

You should post in the Broadcom forum. This forum is for the Atheros chipset, and the Linksys WRT54G is a Broadcom chipset. All the Linksys users should be over there.
