blkt - you are a super genius! in the Openwrt link there were commments about using IE10 in IE8 compatibilty mode and that worked instantly. Thank you.

@Wetzel - Take some time and read through earlier posts in this thread. Anything later than r30432 will brick your router and require you to open it up and do recovery.
