It appears that I have exactly the same problem as datifasulli5 with my XR500 only I didn't even get a chance to try uploading dd-wrt firmware. Mine had stock firmware (purchased used - so I don't kn ...

After upgrade, all 6 in my signature became unresponsive over night. Wifi connects, but no internet, LAN, GUI, or SSH access. I've reverted all to the previous build.

Edit: I'm suspecting there was ...

QCA devices have received features to help with roaming, but I haven't used broadcom in a while, so I'm not sure what's there in the settings. Since only one of your devices has DD-WRT, that would onl ...

Same issues as Nickant & d00zah. EA8500s all boot back to the previously installed build. My XR500 reset to defaults, but seems to be working fine after reconfiguration. My R7500v2s seem good so f ...

I used to have a R6300v2 OCed with a 120mm fan mounted to the back. I drew the power from one of the USB ports. No PWM, but since it was a 12v fan running on 5v, it was totally silent & moved more ...

As others suggested, the r7800 is a solid option (if you don't get one with bad blocks). The r7500v2 is a step down, but still a good choice. Avoid the v1. If opening the router for a serial connectio ...

Mesh/802.11s is a standard for connecting the routers without physical wires. It doesn't directly impact device roaming.

I want to create a VAP on the same network as the mesh is using. That is not what you did. In your case that would mean having a VAP being broadcast on the 5GHz band, as well as a regular access point ...

A flash to a device with bad blocks causes a boot loop. The bad blocks are skipped when flashing, so rootfs can't be located, as it got moved over a few blocks. The power LED will come on every 10-15 ...

Take a look at the links Blkt shared. Mesh can work well, but there are currently some significant limitations on DD-WRT. Since VAPs don't work, the 1043s are especially limited (no wifi).
