I have a feeling comcast in my area must be having issues.... reverted to 47762 and similar performance issues.... maybe the cold weather is affecting some surface equipment that is freezing...it rain ...

For sure it's not as easy as replacing the wires...

my hunch is that either the 9984 5g chip is fried or the power rail and supporting power rail components have failed due to be driven too hard. ...

BS confirmed that the wifi is fried, but suspects it's the spi flash that's the issue. Either bad spi or corrupt data (we'll circle back on this in a moment)
