Yeah that sounds like it might help. But I use ddwrt for controlling internet access and throughput to kids devices by assigning static ip's to everything. And of course, my fiber gateway does not hav ...

I bought my R7500v2 for $140 about 3 weeks ago. While I would love to just return it and buy an EA8500, the EA8500 is $220 right now on Amazon. Thats quite a bit more than a $10 difference.

I guess ...

I hope the 7500v2 gets supported! At least the 7500 has a beta, albeit it's the v1. At the same time though, I don't see any support for any newer Netgear, 7800 and up, yet.
If plans are for any of t ...

The V2 however is a full Atheros package which should get full 2.4 and 5ghz support once Kong/BS get their hands on one.
Hope they get one soon! I really miss the QoS in dd-wrt.
Tried a couple soft ...

Ok, so I stopped by the local WallyWorld and they had the R7500v2, I figured why not, if worse comes to worse, I can take it back.
Well here's the results, gateway LAN plugged into R7500 WAN

So for the heck of it, I loaded the latest firmware from Netgear.
It's setup as an AP with switch capabilities. It now gets high speeds, but I loose all functionality and control that I use in DD-WR ...

Are there any routers that can handle gig through WAN, while using dd-wrt?
And do you know if the QoS issue is a hardware issue or dd-wrt limitation?

Thanks!

@Per Yngve Berg - No it doesn't. The fiber runs to a box they installed on the side of the house, then CAT5e is run into the house and connects to the gateway.
Not sure what's in the box as I haven't ...

Yeah, the Pace Gateway I have doesn't have a true bridging mode. I have to use the DMZPlus feature on the gateway, for my router to work.
I'm also thinking of calling AT&T to swap the gateway wit ...

Just got fiber today and currently I'm running a Netgear WNDR4500(v1) with dd-wrt v3.0-r28647 giga (01/02/16) behind a Pace 5268AC and I'm only getting about 125 up and down on the wire.
I was told ...
