Do this. Goto the admin menu and enable jffs2 and clean it. Do a warm reboot of the router from the admin menu and wait for it to come back up. About 5 minutes ...

it is even worse, i was able to flash it (generic, worked even at the first try), but now i am trying to get back to the original netgear firmware and it is just not working.
