So on a nutshell:

- create vpn config
- create ssids, assigining each to a different dhcp scope
- use pbr to make one subnet route through the tunnel and the other through the wan.

Is that ab ...

There's no problem in creating a configuration where users connect to one SSID that's bound to the WAN, and another SSID that's bound to the VPN. **BUT** that can o ...

Based on the OP's description, I assume the extender is patched LAN to LAN wrt the primary router. And as such, the IoT network should be configured by the extender, NOT the primary router. IOW, if ...

You're describing two different scenarios here.

Selective routing is already possible using the PBR (policy based routing) field of the GUI. Any source IP/network specified there is routed through ...

If I understand your intentions correctly, you should be able to configure the router in client mode using the 5GHz freq, leaving the wired LAN and 2.4GHz as a local network, and configuring the VPN c ...

I have no idea how the Run Commands functionality is implemented in the router. But dd-wrt users sooner or later come to learn that it doesn't work as expected. It's just plain goofy and best avoide ...

Repeater Bridge mode requires you manually configure the LAN section on the Setup page.

Is the assigned IP on the same network as the primary router?

Does it have a gateway IP that points to tha ...

While some dd-wrt routers are capable of client mode, fact is, you can make *any* router (even w/ stock firmware) a client mode router by patching a wireless ethernet bridge to it ...
