Maybe the netbios name is the router name from setup page?

Mine shows EA8500 which is the routers name.

However I could only get to my share using its IP address It asks for a password with user ...

I cannot comment on throughput of a router I did not personally test.

I would not expect a single core MIPS32 24K at 680 Mhz can do giga bit speeds although with SFE on who knows?

As said speed ...

I stopped testing it long ago, I use a QNAP pro 453 with 4 times 8 TB Smile

For my family members I still build with Samba36, that said I have a USB stick on my EA8500 (running 46968 alpha build) and ...

I totally agree with @Gameman Advanced Kid

If you want a better router buy the likes of a NetGear R7800 Qualcomm/Atheros Dual core Arm A15 equivalent at 1725 MHz or NetGear R9000 Smile

That said I ...

Only thing I can think of is doing a thorough erase from CLI (telnet/Putty) with:
nvram erase && reboot

Put settings in manually, never restore from a backup (to a different build that is) ...

What you can try is upgrading to the latest build and use Vanilla Firmware (it is in the wifi settings page)

The latest build, 46958, breaks NAS. at least for the 7500v2. I tried to see if I could ...

It only works when using Automatic DHCP and you have to reboot once or twice.

Your friend is probably not using NAT and has setup as a WAP:

The no-resolv directive means not using resolv.dnsmasq but instead use the servers specified with: server=

So it does not matter what you set otherwise.
One caveat Nord can push routing for their ...

That is the normal LAN<>WAN speed for these little routers.

If you want near gig speed you need a better router like a Netgear R7800.

You can eke some more speed out of it by enabling CTF& ...

I suspect the problem is that you are using pushed DNS servers which will route through the VPN so you Amazon clients are using a DNS server via the VPN while n ...
