It runs on I'll second the vote for the R7800. I went from a WRT1900ACS to the R7800 and I couldn't be happier. As noted above, MUCH better range ... |

Maybe I'm just unlucky. A scan of the thread titles in this forum makes me think maybe not.
Mine is a V1, and some have said that the V2 is much improved. It's great that you're happy with your h ... |

Seem like this is "resolved" so this post is for posterity... I've owned several Linksys WRT routers and the 1900ACSv1 I bought a few years ago will be my last. I am not impressed with the ...

I picked up a Netgear R7800 as there are many ... |

Seeing a lot of posts about problems with the 1900ACS. Maybe try OpenWRT until the DD devs get their stuff straight, because it sure looks careless and broken right now.

So I decided to try Davidc502's latest build of OpenWRT on my WRT1900ACSv1. It's working great. The 5GHz radio @80MHz width on AC mode is fast and stable. No problems with my Pixel phone. Seems al ...

You're correct. The files are too big for the stock FW to install. You need to first install an older version that's > 32MB, then upgrade.

I've been running the latest openwrt and it's been solid for a year on my acs v.1. I had tried dd-wrt when installing that but could never get the 5ghz radio to work. That must have been during the ...

You'll probably have to go back a year or so. DD-WRT is badly broken on the WRT1900ACS v1.

The router works fine with stock FW. It's an ACS V1.
There's just something very very flaky with DD-WRT. As pointed out above, configuring the wifi settings are problematic. I have connection is ... |

This is a plea to the developers... DD-WRT is unusable on the 1900ACS, and has been for some time now. I've been a member of this forum and a DD-WRT user for many years. It's always been my favorit ...
