You can upgrade safely to Kong’s builds. Usually there are less problems.

Sweet, thanks much. Update to Kong r37015 went without incident!

You use he trx file. Or you can see the Kong build, which most of us do.

You can use the trx file inside of the DD-WRT web GUI? Ok.

With regard to a Kong build, can I upgrade to that from what I ...

So I'm still trying to understand this, and I've done this a million times so you'd think I'd have it down by now.

I have an AC-68U. (Okay, it's one of the T-Mobile ones but it's been re-flashed so ...

r34080 is working a treat, thanks again!

Only issue I am seeing is that the 5GHz light isn't turning on even though the 5GHz network is working fine. Is that a known issue and/or something I can fi ...

Did you use the correct firmware image?

Pretty sure. I mean, there's only one file in the folder in Other Downloads for the Asus RT-AC68U r33525. It's not like there's a min you have to flash befor ...

Well, that was exciting. Got stuck in a boot loop that I had to dig out the Asus Recovery Tool to flash back to an accessible state. I suspect going straight to r33525 is not the way to go.

So can ...

Thanks, I appreciate it. From the looks there isn't an archive of older builds like there is on the DD-WRT Other Downloads page, so I assume whatever isn't in a TEST directory is considered more or le ...

I just turned a TM-AC1900 into an RT-AC68U (as Gawd intended) and now I want to get it flashed to DD-WRT.

The one thing I really want (beyond maximum stability) is to make sure the Krack vulnerabil ...

Has anyone tried getting back to OEM FW if you can get the router to respond via tftp services? Might see if going back to OEM FW can get the router back to OEM working defaults.

Yep, tried that, d ...

I think the v3/v4 firmwares are interchangeable so not much to worry about there. I was looking an ASUS too and decided last minute on the C9 after a price drop.

Sounds like you hit the same Amazon ...

Used BrainSlayer's second factory-to-DDWRT file. Worked fine. Did a 30-30-30 reset, then tried to flash the most recent build. At this point (even after another 30-30 ...
