It looks like a great tool, I don't run Windows so I can't use it. I would love to have this as an Android app.

I compiled the latest version if anyone is interested, it uses kernel 4.1.13 and includes luci by default. Everything seems to be functioning but my setup isn't super complex.

Make certain the adapter is 300mbps both ways, some aren't. I generally connect at 270mbps range to my RT.

No as the hardware doesn't support these features (jumbo frames may function).

I flashed successfully my E3000 (and also my WRT54G in the past), only using a simple push on the reset button, before and after...

I'm not sure at all it is better to do a 30/30/30 because ...

Have you tried inserting the fuse module? Is the module in /usr/lib/modules (may be /lib/modules/<kernel version>)...not around my router right now.
