The tp link and the 160nl are both atheros, which are not the same as broadcom.

It indeed does reserve the ip but only for DHCP leases, hence its name, and is not intended as a safeguard against collisions between static and dynamic assigned ip's.

Yea. I believe it is in there as well as i remember i saw it. The only thing that will explain this is bcoz of the hardware 'limitation'. It is a cheap TP-Link model - WR741ND.

The option to disable GUI for wireless clients should under Wireless>Advanced Settings as shown on the attached image. I don't think your router chipset would matter on this feature being included ...
