IIRC it takes about 10 minutes to flash a cfe using jtag. If it is not getting past a certain point, perhaps your flash chip is damaged? Others will know better.

I'm back at getting this router to work. I have the same result as my first.

Seems asterisks was only built into K2.4 Build Mega but the Asus RT-N16 should use K2.6 Newd2.

If reply has TTL of 64, the operating system firmware(i.e. Linux, dd-wrt) is responding. The good news here is that there IS operating system firmware on your router.
