Is both VLAN1 and VLAN10 unbridged interfaces.

VLAN1 is default bridged to br0. If it still is, you have to use br0 instead of vlan1 in the iptables rules.


Do nodes on vlan10 have 172.20.10.1 ...

Both have gateway set to 192.168.1.1

That is the error. All nodes at 192.168.2.x must have 192.168.2.1 as gateway (if that is the router's address on that interface).

Yes, as the new drivers use swconfig, these variables is no longer in use.

Type SWCONFIG DEV SWITCH0 SHOW to get the config.

Set the 5 Ghz as Client and connect to the main router.
Set the 2.4 Ghz as AP

If you want the 5 Ghz also as AP, create a VAP.

There is no Repeater mode on the Atheros radio. Only Broadcom have ...

WDS is for connecting APs wireless together. As you have cables between them you just set them up as AP.

Cables are better as bandwidth are not used on the wifi to transfer traffic between routers.
