I can't believe it's 2014 and a 'large' networking company would still ship a router with such neutered specs.
I remember my first Dlink router I got in 2004 had only 2MB in flash and was so ticked ... |

I guess the fact that linksys now offers their own hacked together openwrt release (with binary driver) on gpl download site pretty much says it all. They don't expect any opensource firmware support ... | |

RT-N16.
RT-N66U for more features. Imo don't go for AC yet as the MIPS routers are badly throttled by lack of cpu power and the firmware for ARM routers is still progressing. |

My old WRT54GL squeals.
It also sometimes randomly rebooted when people were connected to it and actively using bandwidth. Could be related but I've never bothered to debug it. (Was used as an A ... |

I overclocked a 54GL once to 300MHz. (It was stable at 250, was replacing the unit so decided to try it).
Didn't work. Router reboot looped and didn't respond. Just held the reset for a bit and it ... |

In recovery mode you can set a static ip on the 192.168.1.0/24 subnet, gateway 192.168.1.1 and go to 192.168.1.1 on your browser.
Upload firmware of your choice from there. |

Usually, specifics are trailed builds, you can flash any other build with the correct nvram size for K2.6 builds.
For K3.X different nvram sizes are taken care of by the firmware. |

Need to use serial to recover it. ...6with a bricked router the TFTP-restore operation cannot be started automatically, so a seria ... |

5GHz travels shorter and degrades quicker when passing through objects.
You'll only get a high SNR if you're less than ~6ft away. Seems normal. |
