2.4 and 5 GHz have different SSID and both different security key. NVRAM usage : 29.88KB Up since 27 days and no issue so far |

Check the serial terminal. It will show you the boot process of the device. Maybe this will give you a hint why it is hanging.
Are you using original Netgear FW or DD-wrt for the tftp transfer? |

You have to interrupt the bootloader.

Are you saying you have both 2.4 and 5ghz enabled or just the 5ghz? Mine wasn't just an issue of heat, it's that the router started glitching almost immediately with both bands enabled.

Using mainly 5GHz on mine with Intel Ultimate-N 6300 AGN and I'm achieving quiet good speed. 12-17Mbyte/s (Windows filecopy)
Of course it heats up but it also does with stock firmware. |

WNDR3400 has Jtag and serial.

PPTP VPN is broken since build 18777.
Use some older version and it will work. My WRT54GL 1.1 is on build 14929. No issues at all |
