Just got one of these and I'm wondering if somebody is working on a DD-WRT port for it?

MCU : AR7370-BC2A
WIFI : AR9380
RAM : 32MB
FLASH : 8MB SPI

Serial Port DJ1:

1 = VCC
2 = RX
3 = TX ...

Same here.
2.4 and 5 GHz have different SSID and both different security key.
NVRAM usage : 29.88KB

I have a question for Exec: When you enable the 5ghz band do you have it in "Mixed" or "N-Only (5GHz)"? I'll experiment some more and post if I get anything different.

Check the serial terminal. It will show you the boot process of the device. Maybe this will give you a hint why it is hanging.

Are you using original Netgear FW or DD-wrt for the tftp transfer?

You have to interrupt the bootloader.

Press CTRL + C rapidly or try to hold it while powering up the router.

If everything went well you will get a CFE promt.

Which build are you using?

18740 as in newer releases PPTP is broken.

Are you saying you have both 2.4 and 5ghz enabled or just the 5ghz? Mine wasn't just an issue of heat, it's that the router started glitching almost immediately with both bands enabled.

Using mainly 5GHz on mine with Intel Ultimate-N 6300 AGN and I'm achieving quiet good speed. 12-17Mbyte/s (Windows filecopy)

Of course it heats up but it also does with stock firmware.

WNDR3400 has Jtag and serial.
I would try with serial first. In this case you can stop the bootloader and manually start the tftpd.

Use some older version and it will work.
