Interesting, and thanks. I'm pretty confident of my test results and not worried about the server in this scenario. Perhaps it's something about the way I've got Yamon or some other aspect of DD-WRT c ...

Very much a +1 for me here. Not having Band-Steering is the reason I recently left DD-WRT (after 10+ years) and moved to the Synology RT2600ac. All the same features I love in DD-WRT, plus more (inclu ...

PostForum: Broadcom SoC based Hardware   Posted: Sun Jan 22, 2017 18:17   Subject: QoS / R8500 / XFINITY testing and results
I have an XFINITY connection that, without QoS enabled, reports raw speeds of about 230Mbps down and 12Mbps up, and I run an R8500 as my main router.

For years I've had both downstream and upstream ...

If one of the users in a hurry for a R9000 build would send a R9000 to Kong for his collection he would happily finish the port and test it.

I don't have an R9000 but I do have contacts at Netgear. ...

Yeah, that's totally it. Is this something I can currently do with DD-WRT? I didn't think we had a way to do anything like this yet where the network participated in directing clients from one node ...

If we are talking about a mesh network, then we are talking about a dynamic network with route updates, moving nodes etc.

Yeah, that's totally it. Is this something I can currently do with DD-WRT? ...

Well, Grandpa-Simpson is trolling and a little(?) whiny, yes. And Kong, thank you, your thoughtful reply helped to shed a little light on what DD-WRT is and isn't.

Security and stability with a few ...

@Dave

BS build 30880 doesn't have et in the stock firmware.
So, what's et supposed to do (don't say phone home !)

Thanks!

'et' lets you control some of the hardware switches in the switch (a ...

Personally, I'm using the BS build at the moment.

phoenix127 or Kong: do you know (can you test?) if the 'et' command exists in the BS builds for the R8500? I'm currently using it to [url=http://ww ...

TL;DR - RFlow / MACupd service cuts QoS limited download in half. Using both MAC and Netmask QoS prioritization also limits download.

Curious if the latter (or both) of these are related to CPU u ...

I got a PN from Kong.
There is a change made by BS and this requires a fix in Kong's build. Will be available in the next build.

Looks like 30870M is up on Kong's repo.
