Was testing using secure dns functionality in the browser disabled or enabled? Most browsers are configured to use secure dns using current provider by default.

just had a quick play and I see what you mean, could it be done by CLI rather than GUI, I.e would the same commands that would be used for each ethernet port work for the wireless interfaces

there are few other ways how to let only those clients that you need...either via IPTABLES rules or via DNSmasq rules...

so, the easiest one is to add static leases for each client ...

hmm it sounds like you have a bad blocks...how big is the dumaOS file compared to factory ddwrt file...
Im afraid the only way to get more light is to connect it to a serial and than see what happens ...
